How Quickly are Gravesites Marked in a National Cemetery?
Understanding that placement of the final marker is a key point of closure for the family, the National Cemetery Administration has a goal to place the final marker, with the inscription selected by the family, as soon as possible. We may provide a headstone, marker, or niche cover to identify the burial place in a federal, Department of Defense, or state Veterans cemetery. We may also provide a headstone, marker, or medallion for Veterans buried in private or public cemeteries.
